Daniel L. Kapp was born and raised in Miami. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. He completed medical school at the University of South Florida and Plastic Surgery Residency at the Ohio State University.

Dr. Kapp is highly regarded nationally for his expertise in wound care management utilizing advanced biologics and cutting edge technology. He has served as an advisor to a number of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Dr. William H. Tettelbach, Chief Medical Officer, RestorixHealth , Adjunct Assistant Professor, Duke University School of Medicine

Dr. William H. Tettelbach is a certified wound specialist physician actively board-certified in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Internal Medicine while retaining academic appointments at Duke University School of Medicine and Western University of Health Sciences. He currently serves as the Executive Medical Director of the newly established Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Care Service line for the Mountain Division (Alaska, Idaho & Utah) of HCA Healthcare. His career has been dedicated to teaching providers and improving patients’ lives requiring the services of Hyperbaric Medicine, Advanced Wound Care, and Infectious Diseases. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Tettelbach is an active member of Noridian’s Contractor Advisory Committee (CAC) providing guidance in the development of Hyperbaric Medicine, Wound Care, and Infectious Diseases local coverage determinations. He is also a committee member for The Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders which acts as one of the voices for Hyperbaric Medicine in the Government Affairs health policy arena.

Thomas E. Serena, MD, FACS, FACHM, MAPWCA, CEO and Medical Director, SerenaGroup Inc and SerenaGroup Research Foundation

Dr. Thomas E. Serena MD FACS FACHM MAPWCA, Founder and Medical Director of The SerenaGroup®, a family of wound, hyperbaric and research companies, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The College of William and Mary and Penn State Medical School.

He completed his residency in Surgery at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with additional year of training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Southern Illinois University.

To date he has opened and operates wound care centers across the United Sates and globally. Dr. Serena has been the lead or Principal investigator in over 100 clinical trials, including gene therapy for critical limb ischemia, antimicrobial dressings, growth factors, topical and parenteral antibiotics and CTP therapy. He founded the first wound healing cooperative research group that produced more than 12 manuscripts in 2016 alone. In 2011 he developed a diagnostic technique that now bears his name (The Serena Technique©). He holds numerous patents on wound care devices and dressings.

Dr. Paul Glat, Professor of Surgery, Drexel University College of Medicine

Dr. Paul M. Glat is a native of New York City, growing up in White Plains and graduating cum laude in 1984 from Princeton University. He then graduated from New York University, where he served as class president, before completing thorough post-graduate training in surgical techniques as well as advanced training at NYU Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Part of this training included study at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital, allowing Dr. Glat the opportunity to work with international leaders in the field.

He currently teaches medical students as a Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine, and his writing and clinical research have appeared in major plastic surgery textbooks and more than 50 publications.

Richard Simman, MD, FACS, FACCWS, Clinical professor of surgery, Plastic Surgery, University of Toledo College of medicine , Director of Wound Care at Jobst Vascular Institute ProMedica Health Network

Dr. Simman is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is the founding president and chair of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery, past president of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists. He sits on the editorial board of the Annals of Plastic Surgery and the Journal of Wound Care.

He is Clinical Professor at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, Department of Surgery. He is the Director of the Wound Care Program at Jobst Vascular Institute/ProMedica Health Network, Toledo, Ohio.

His background includes training in General Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University in New York, NY and a Plastic Surgery residency at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Southfield, Michigan. In addition, he completed a Burn Fellowship followed by a Wound Healing/Cultured Keratinocytes Research Fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, letters and book chapters.

Jennie Feight, MS, CPC, CPMA, CPC-I, Director, Health Policy, MIMEDX Group, Inc.

Jennie Feight is the Director of Health Policy for MIMEDX Group, Inc., and has worked 20+ years in wound care reimbursement and health policy.  Based in Western Pennsylvania, she completed her Masters in Health Services Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Jennie holds certifications from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in medical coding (CPC) and medical auditing (CPMA), and is an AAPC certified instructor.  In 2022, she was honored to receive a Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Rising Star award.  She currently serves as President for the AAPC Greater Pittsburgh Area local chapter.

Matthew (Matt) Schweyer, CPCO, CHT-A, CHWS, UHMSADS

Matt has amassed thirty-five years in health care with the last twenty-five years in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen treatment throughout the USA and internationally. Over the last decade Matt has focused on Compliance and Regulatory oversight. Since joining SerenaGroup, Matt has functioned as Chief Quality Officer, and a senior executive. In this capacity he works closely with all stakeholders to ensure a clear, strategic direction for regulatory compliance, quality and reimbursement, making certain, along with our hospital partners, that these programs are hardwired and understood.

Matt is recognized as a thought leader; frequently an invited speaker both nationally and internationally on matters of compliance, quality, clinical documentation and reimbursement. Matt holds a degree in Health Care Administration from Concordia University. Joseph Rolley is Principal at JTR Business Consulting, LLC providing market access and business consulting services to the medical technology industry. He has over 40 years of experience is sales, marketing, business development, reimbursement, government affairs and health policy. Rebecca Aburn, Nurse Practitioner – vascular, Te Whatu Ora

Rebecca has a 30 year history of clinical experience in neurosciences, intensive care, vascular, diabetic foot, wound care, clinical education and district nursing. She completed her Masters of Nursing in 2006 and has a great passion for nursing practice development. As past treasurer Vice president and now President, for the New Zealand Wound Care Society Rebecca is involved at a national / international level in practice and guideline developments.

In 2010 Rebecca completed an advanced post graduate certificate in clinical nursing.  In 2017 she completed my Nurse Practitioner training and works as the Nurse Practitioner for vascular. Rebecca has presented at both National and international conferences. Publishing in wounds UK and setting up the first conservative sharp wound debridement course in 2022.

Her areas of professional interest are using innovation to improve the patient’s journey, Lymphedema, Pyoderma Gangrenosum, Surgical site infection prevention and care of the complex vascular patient.

Jeffrey A. Niezgoda, MD, MAPWCA, FACHM, CHWS, President and Chief Medical Officer, WebCME, RxOS Medical, Auxillium Health

Dr. Jeffrey Niezgoda has dedicated his professional life to optimizing outcomes in wound healing. He is the Past President of the American Professional Wound Care Association and the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. He is Founder and President Emeritus of AZH Wound & Hyperbaric Center (2015-2021). Dr. Niezgoda was the Hyperbaric Medical Director at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee (1999-2013). Hadar Lev-Tov, MD, Associate professor, University of Miami

Hadar Lev-Tov is an Associate Professor at the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller school of Medicine. He is a Board-certified dermatologist with significant interest in wound healing and medical dermatology. His work is supported in part by a career development award from the Dermatology Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and industry.
Dr. Lev-Tov completed his residency in Dermatology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City after completing a research post-doctoral training at UC Davis where he also earned his Master's in clinical research.

Dr. Adam Isaac graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed a residency in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center (RWJBarnabas Health). David D. Zabel, M.D., FACS, attended Case Western University, Cleveland, Ohio, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering degree. Dr. Zabel then attended the University of Cincinnati where he obtained his medical degree. Dr. Zabel completed seven years General Surgery Residency at Christiana Hospital and two years of traing at the University of California, San Francisco in the Wound Healing Research Lab. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburg where he completed his Plastic Surgery Residency. He is a retired Commander in the United States Navy Reserves.

Dr. Zabel has been in practice in Delaware since 2001 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Andrew Leask, Professor, University of Saskatchewan

Dr Leask [BSc (Brit. Col.) PhD (Chicago)] is an expert in how the connective tissue microenvironment contributes to scleroderma, melanoma and wound healing, most notably on contributions of the hypoxia/YAP targets CCN2 and CCN1. He participated in the early development of Roxadustat and pamrevmulab. He has ~200 peer-reviewed publications, an h index of 71, and is currently active in the leadership of the European Tissue Repair Society, the Skin Research Group of Canada and Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry, and is on the editorial board of journals such as Matrix Biology, AmJPathology and Wound Repair and Regeneration.

Adam Young, PhD, Vice President, Medical Affairs, Aroa Biosurgery Limited

Dr. Adam Young received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California San Diego. His past academic research focused on the interaction of stem cells and the extracellular matrix within the context of tissue regeneration.
